👋 {firstname} stops turning into a username, in the last places it still did
- Version 0.0.53 fixed this when a list had no names saved. Some lists still slipped through, so messages went out reading "Hey sayem.khan.asp" while the profile on screen clearly said "Sayem Khan".
- Three cases were left. A saved first name that was really a username won over the real one. A contact missing its username field stopped the check from running at all. And a name that was simply a different username, like "cwbearpro" saved under the handle "carol5713", was not spotted.
- All three now fall back to the real name shown on the profile, so your existing lists stop showing usernames straight away.
- Worth knowing if your list was imported before version 0.0.54: older imports read only the first column of a CSV and dropped the rest, so those lists are also missing the first name, last name and community you supplied. Re-importing the same file restores all of it, and your own names are more dependable than whatever a profile happens to display.
🤝 Follow requests are on by default now
- "Send A Follow Request Before Message?" used to start on No. Instagram puts a DM from someone you do not follow into message requests instead of the inbox, and refuses voice notes and images on that thread, so starting on No quietly made every campaign harder to deliver.
- It now starts on Yes, including when you switch campaign type, which used to silently turn it back off.
- Turning it off asks you first, and the edit screen warns too, which it never did before.
- The wording is also more accurate: it is the person following you back that moves your thread into their inbox and unlocks attachments. Sending the request makes that likelier rather than guaranteeing it.
