Social Prospector FB v2.1.14

🛡️ The same person can no longer be messaged twice in one campaign

  • Campaigns checked for duplicates only after a message had already been delivered. If the same contact appeared twice in an audience, which Facebook sourced lists routinely produce, that real person received two messages, on every run.
  • The second send was invisible to you. It was recorded the same way an ordinary send failure is recorded, so it never showed in your Sent tally and nothing in the log told you it had happened.
  • Every contact is now checked before the message goes out. Anyone already handled, whether sent, failed or suppressed, is skipped and listed in the Skipped column with the reason, and the campaign keeps its place in the list. Audiences are also deduplicated when you save a campaign, so the duplicate is never built in the first place and your campaign total is truthful.

🤝 New campaigns send a friend request first, and friend requests are now paced and capped

  • New Broadcast campaigns now default to sending a friend request before the message. Cold messages to people you are not connected with burn through Facebook's message request allowance fastest, and that allowance is usually what ends a campaign. Switching it off now asks you to confirm, and an amber note stays under the setting whenever it is off, including when you reopen the campaign later. Campaigns you already saved keep exactly the setting they were saved with.
  • Friend requests are now paced to match. There is a daily budget that survives restarts and resets at midnight, a minimum gap between requests, and a stop after three refusals in a row instead of firing at everyone left on the list. The default budget is 100 a day, the same number the Post Friender and Member Friender screens already recommend, and you can change it per campaign in both the new campaign screen and the edit screen.
  • Requests only go to people the campaign is actually going to message, so someone skipped because a conversation already exists no longer gets a permanent friend request and nothing else. "Already friends" and "request already pending" cost you no budget and do not count towards the stop, and a request whose result could not be confirmed is no longer reported as sent.
  • Friend requests, group scrapes and the new Page followers scrape were also forcing a visible Chrome window open regardless of your background browser setting, and everything that ran afterwards inherited that window. All three now follow the setting you chose.

🛑 Campaigns now tell you why they stopped, and stop without spending your list

  • A campaign that hit a limit or a blocked screen used to simply stop, with nothing on screen to explain it. The reason now appears as a notification that stays put until you dismiss it.
  • Three different causes were all being reported as "Message text could not be entered", which blamed your message for something else entirely. Facebook asking for your end-to-end encryption PIN before it will open a chat, Chrome left browsing as one of your Pages so Facebook shows no message box at all, and a Social Prospector browser still running from an earlier campaign are now each named, with what to do about them. For that last one you do not need to close your own Chrome. Social Prospector drives its own separate browser.
  • Checks on your content run first now. A blank message or an unreadable image or voice note stops the campaign in a fraction of a second, before any friend request is sent and without marking anyone as contacted. Previously each of those failures cost a real, permanent friend request and consumed that recipient, one at a time, until the list was gone. Whatever the cause, your list is intact once you have fixed it.

🖼️ Attachments and reply text now land where you put them

  • Two bugs here changed what people actually received, with nothing on screen to warn you.
  • Adding or duplicating a message could file an image or voice note against a different message. Because a campaign rotates through its messages, some recipients got an attachment that belonged with completely different wording and others got none, while the campaign looked correctly set up on screen. Older campaigns are repaired as soon as you add or duplicate a message in them.
  • On the Comment Replier screen, the Type Reply, Type Keywords and Type Messages boxes all shared one draft, and cancelling a box left its text sitting there. A private message opener typed into one could reappear in the public comment box, one click away from being posted, or in the keyword box, where it would have been saved as a filter. All three now open empty.

📣 New: build a broadcast list from your own Page's followers

  • "My Page Followers" is a new option in the broadcast list dropdown. Point it at a Page you own, using the full URL or just the handle, set how many you want, and it collects the followers into a normal broadcast list ready for a campaign.
  • It reads follower data from Facebook directly rather than reading the page layout, so a Facebook redesign does not break it, and duplicates are stripped out, since Facebook serves the same people again across pages.
  • The scrape now explains why it stopped instead of handing you a bare number, so you can tell "this is genuinely everyone Facebook will list" apart from "Facebook throttled you, run it again later". Saving a list also no longer fails with "Please enter your Page URL!" while the URL is plainly sitting in the box.

✍️ Ready made opening messages, and a composer you can edit in

  • The composer now ships with 12 opening messages, grouped by the four audiences you can build a list from: people who engaged with someone else's post, people who engaged with your own post, people who like a competitor's Page, and people who like your own Page. Each group holds three different phrasings, and because a campaign rotates through its messages, adding all three means back to back recipients do not get identical text. Click one to drop it straight into the composer, and hover or tab across it to read what that wording is doing. The panel collapses when you want the room and remembers how you left it, and your own saved templates are untouched. Placeholders such as [topic] sit in square brackets, and if you start a campaign with any still unfilled, Social Prospector names them and asks you to confirm, so a prospect never receives a half-finished message.
  • A message you have already added can now be edited, using the pencil beside it or a double click on the text, instead of being deleted and retyped from scratch with its attachments.
  • An image or voice note now carries over when you add another message variation, so several versions can share one attachment without you re-picking it every time. Choosing a new image or audio, or opening a message to edit it, clears that carry over.
  • The campaign edit window has been rebuilt. It is narrower and centred, every label lines up with its control, and each message is its own numbered card that tells you it rotates with the others, with clearly labelled Add Image and Add Audio buttons under the text box.
